As a snow storm began February 18th, 140 people crammed in to watch Memories of Montpelier. The documentary shared stories from 12 local residents of growing up in our capital city. Another showing is scheduled for March 5th at 7pm due to the number of people turned away due to the full house. The project was initiated by Bill Doyle who led a conversation after the showing.

Vermont Public Television is showing two recent history documentaries from Peregrine Productions durig their pledge drive in March. “Life in Chittenden” will be on Saturday, March 14th at 5pm and “Memories of Montpelier” will follow it at 6pm.

A new history documentary featuring the stories of 8 Montpelier residents and what growing up in our capitol city was like premiers at the Kellogg- Hubbard Library February 18th. The event is part of the Montpelier Historical Society series and more info will be posted soon.

Peregrine Productions has begun researching and collecting footage for a new wildlife documentary covering New England’s moose and deer. The completion date is still being determined, but check out the footage below of this one year old!

Expectations were low on the icy night of December 10th. The storm had just ended and so we set up in the small theater at the Essex Cinemas holding 150 people. Fifteen minutes before show time the theater was packed. We moved everyone to the larger theater and came close to filling it. Thanks to all who braved the roads and made t a great night!

After interviewing 13 local residents, then culling from 10 hours of interviews, gathering over 250 photographs Peregrine Productions and students from Johnson State College are having the first free public viewing of “Life in Chittenden County” at the Essex Cinemas in Essex Junction Wednesday evening at 7pm on December 10th.

Vince Franke, of Peregrine Productions, has teamed up with Herpetologist, Jim Andrews to produce the first complete DVD guide to all the amphibians and reptiles in New England. The DVD is a combination of over 3 hours of programs, quizzes and fact sheets. The video will be available on Peregrines shop any day now.

For an upcoming DVD, Vince shot footage of every species of amphibian and reptile that breeds in New England. Snakes, salamanders, turtles, frogs and one lizard…The pursuit took over 3 years and will culminate in a first of its kind DVD. Click RPS Montage for a 2 minute montage.

After spending 6 weeks taping wildlife, interviewing biologists and trying not to drip sweat on his camera Vince brings home hours of footage of Kit Foxes, Badgers, Rattle Snakes, Kangaroo Rats, Blunt Nosed-Leopard lizards and many other species to edit into a 1/2 hour documentary. Stay tuned for a release of the video in 2009.
